hmmm.....so a post that comes after the Australian ODI tour of India and midway through Pakistan's tour ..

And not to forget some more happenings .. Musharraf declares emergency in Pakistan and BJP coming into power in Karnataka ..

leave aside world talks...not to forget our very own Infy… the bloggers meet came up at Mysore DC ... i think i had the least blogs count among them...so am hoping to make amends with reading and posting blogs ...Blog gurus...better watch out !! ( hope i stick to my word !! )

Also the formation of Toastmasters Club started taking roots in Mysore DC…



BTW, I am just back from a hyderabad trip with my college mates..we were 15 in total…



although the temperature touched 35 which was normal there as friends told me , the atmosphere was electric..college moments were relived at least to an extent..missing all those carefree and enjoying times..



3 points I experienced about Hyderabad : One as already mentioned is its scorching sun…and the second is the rash driving by its people..must have seen 3 accidents daily ( I was there for 3 days ) ..

The third being the biriyani..must have gorged on it 6 times of the 9 meals we had there…

Indian media and cricket fans...

Let me first put things clear…this blog is not intended to underestimate the wonderful efforts of Team India or criticize them , but to put across a point to the majority of the media and fans who have woken up from a long slumber , missing in between the disastrous World Cup where India was bundled out in the first round .

The headlines then are still crystal clear in my mind . “Disaster Strikes India” read the frontline of Deccan Herald .

The headlines yesterday read “The world at Indias feet” . It seems bizarre that the media is ready to forgive very soon . Its stranger that until a few weeks ago , Dhoni’s house was being targeted for an extension of a swimming pool , and in a couple of weeks he is to be conferred the Jharkhand Ratna , the highest honour of the state for this World Cup win . TV channels have nothing more to show , except the prize money and endowments the team has got , along with the increase in brand value and new advertisement catches of the Indian cricketers . And yet , if ( I hope not ) they lose in the soon–to-be-held Australia 7 ODI series , the headlines will come back baying for the blood of Dhoni and to be sacked as captain . The media and fans must learn from an incident I read in another blog , that happened after SA’s traumatic exit from the 99 WC in England and involves Lance Klusener , popularly known as Zulu in the world of cricket and Allan Donald .

After a run-out with Allan Donald spelt an end to South Africa’s World Cup campaign in the semi-final against Australia, everybody went for Klusener in a typical media rage .They went at him with questions as “What did you do, ‘Zulu’? Didn’t you talk to Alan? We needed only one run to win. There were still three balls to go. Where was the hurry? How does it feel to drown an entire nation’s hopes and dreams like this?” etc etc .

Klusener, later adjudged the tournament’s Most Valued Player (MVP), was a farmer from Natal. His cool reply is something which only a farmer could have uttered: “So what? No one died.” was his response .
I hope the media and Indian cricket fans learn from this example . We must be able to handle defeat with grace and wins with simplicity , not to get too carried away with our wins and neither with our losses . The so called fans must support the team in times of distress , stand by them and not leave them to despair , worse still venting their anger on their homes and families . Would we do the same thing if a cricketer was a member of our family ??? Would we leave them to fend for themselves and add salt to the wound if someone in our family had the same fate ? Surely not . After all , they just had a bad game/s . Nobody died…

This is where we must exercise restraint and impose calmness and sense into our heads . Only then , will the true winner emerge in ourselves. Otherwise sportsmanship is the loser. Sports is not only about winning as a saying goes “ Strong is not the one who pulls a wrestler down , but he is the one who controls his anger” .

Ways of life - ICC 20-20 Pre-final report

Now who would have thought that 2 teams who were out of the WC in the first round , now meet in another WC final some 3-4 months later , with both of them beating the World Champions en route to the final....

hmm, strange are the ways of life.....as they say " Journeys end in lovers meetings " .....

Lets see how the lovers embrace other when they meet tomorrow @ Johannesburg 17.30 IST.....

Best of luck to Team India from my side......they deserve a win tomorrow..
Wonder how many million $s wil BCCI pledge for them if they win tomorrow...:-)

Why we Indians are passionate about cricket-my perspective

Why are we Indians are passionate about cricket ?? Why do we make a hell lot of a fuss when the team performs badly , forget all those when we win a significant match , make superstars in a day and burn their effigies the next ? Have been wondering a lot about this for the last few days/months/years ..

The only answer I could get ( had got this answer a lot b4 – but watching the last two days 20-20 matches just confirm my beliefs ) is given below ……



No other team can produce such sensational wins ( or for the matter losses ) as those by Team India.It is this consistent inconsistent performances that makes them play like a champion team one day and novices the next day . Can any other team produce such inconsistent performances over a longer period of time except Pakistan ? ( But Pakistan cricket was , is and will be hounded with bigger problems than performance , that takes the sheen and limelight away from their performances ).



Anyway , yesterdays match will be specially etched in my mind. Never have I seen such intensity ,aggression and fervor in Indian cricketers faces , the icing on the cake was Karthicks catch and Sharmas runout that came after the pathetic fielding in the 7 ODI’s in England and the matches be4 yesterdays . Not to forget , the disciplined bowling (forgetting the wides).



Hope this match paves the way for the Indian future as beating a full fledged SA minus Kallis in the absence of the top 4 of Indian cricket (Yuvi..u r in the top 4.. it surely is a flattering complement from me ) .



Funny and strange are the ways of life --sometimes u perform better when the main players are missing …



But then , that is life and its nuances…



Team India…we are with u…If u give ur best shot , success wil surely follow..as shown yesterday..

Emraan Hashmi must rightly be called the “Elvis Presley” of India..just because all his movies have great soundtracks..even thought he doesnt compose them,credit must be given to him as well...

Nobody’s more luckier than him when it comes to songs..how many times have we seen it?Aashiq Banaya , Woh Lamhe, Aadat , Tu hi meri shab hai, Mausam,Woh Ajnabee..

The list is endless..All his movies have at least 2 foot –tapping numbers..each latest release outdoing the other…



I cant imagine tapping my foot to heartbreaking songs from other actors movies like Emraan Hashmi’s film songs like Woh Lamhe , Tera Mera Rishta , Aadat , Beete Lamhein and the latest To Phir Aao..

The lyrics make me cry but simultaneously the legs sway to a more good feeling making me forget the pain …



How I wish life had something soothing 2 accompany all the pains …
